Build A Generation

Build A Generation is a Colorado based program which is designed to give communities an outline for improving their environment to better meet the needs of the youth. We are an on-going process which focuses on prevention rather than correction.

OBJECTIVES:
~ To eliminate the risks that place children and youth in jeopardy for substance abuse, delinquency, teen pregnancy, dropping out of school, and violence.
~ To build protective factors that promote healthy individual characteristics, bonding and healthy beliefs and clear standards.

Build A Generation uses a science based planning process through which risks our communitys youth face are determined and protective resources available are assessed. Build A Generation communities are able to focus on serving youth from birth to age 18 with prevention services. Our commitment to the community is for the long term effects and not just a quick fix.

Vision Statement:
We will be a community that functions to support families and acts as a family in which youth may become integrated adults, optimistic about making healthy life choices and ready to contribute to their community.

Mission Statement:
Hinsdale County Build A Generation is a collaborative effort by concerned community members to plan, coordinate, and implement a preventative process that will sustain concrete changes in our community for the long term benefit of our youth.
